Ashly Miller

Online Dating scammer claims to be a fashion designer stuck in Poland

Hinsdale, Illinois

Yeah, I fell for it, too. I sent "her" $740.00 and an additional $300.00 for travel cash via WU. I feel so dumb. All of the red flags were there flashing as loud as day but I hastily ignored them. I asked for verification from her but she had nothing to give me to prove that she was real. I did a search online about fashion designer scams stuck in Poland and I saw previous guys who had fell for this scam.

This scammer went by the name of "Ashly Miller." He/she contacted me on PS dating website and said after reading my profile, "she" canceled her profile and wanted to meet me to start a love affair. She sent me pictures of "her self" to my personal email. She started pouring on romantic talk very heavily as if we were long lost lovers whos paths had finally crossed by some devine intervention. She said her mom was Turkish and her dad was from Colorado. They were both dead now, she said. She said she was raised a devout Catholic by her grandparents who put her through fashion design school and then they died and now she was all alone. She claimed a modeling agent picked her up and gave her modeling jobs. She said she fell in love with her modeling agent who dominated her and used her for sex and did not allow her to do anything or go anywhere. She said she left him and started her own fashion design business in Hinsdale, Illinois.

A few days later, she was taking a flight to Warsaw, Poland to a fashion business seminar. Before she left, she called me twice on a restricted line. I checked and discovered it was from a MagicJack number. While in Poland, she sent me a picture of herself supposedly with other visitors and fashion inthusiasts sitting at a table with drinks.

Upon leaving Poland she said her credit card was hacked and she did not have enough money to complete here ticket to KLM airlines through Global Travels LTD. She asked me if I could send her $740.00. I was very sceptical and hesitant. But eventually I sent it hoping that maybe it was not a scam. I sent it Western Union to recipient named: Chinaka Ida Nwite (later I searched that name to find out Chinaka is involved in Poland scams as a shipper). Ashly said she could not receive money via WU because of Polish policy that you must be a Polish citizen to receive money there. I broke all of my rules and sent the money along with additional $300.00 for Ashly to use as spending cash (I know, I know ...I feel like a dunce).

Then she claimed she could not come home because she bought a lot of textile fabric for her business and the materials were held in immigration customs at the airport and they told her she must pay $1,650.00 in cash for taxes to export the items. So she asked me for $1,650.00. Of course that was the last straw. I did not send anymore money. I combed the internet until I found "WhoScammedYou.com" and found guys who were scammed like me.

They tried to scam me to, but thanks to this site, I avoided it. Every thing was starting to sound really fishy because she would not lay too much ground work about her current life and was hesitant about answering questions among other things. She said that she was born and raised in Israel, that her father passed away a year ago and her mother passed away when she was a teenager. She gave me this address too:

5506 Madison st Hinsdale Illinois

I received messages from a scammer who used some of the same pictures. Same story, dead parents, raised in Israel, Fashion Designer, etc. Needed money so bad because of textiles cost and blocked credit card. I fell for it like a dumb and I submitted my transaction on Western Union. But before she went to pick up the money, I called the anti-fraud service of WU. Hopefully, they will block it before the worst happens.
