This man is very plausible(in other words a very good con man) BEWARE.he likes to frequent places where people with money go. This allows him to network and look for likely mugs.Mr Devereux likes to play the long game by sucking his prey in with interesting conversation ,letting you know how many famous and influential people he knows they include film stars,lawyers etc . He will draw you into his web and then might want to invest by offering to get funding for your business or ideas especially if you have had trouble getting funding elsewhere.
This might go on for a while,you will be meeting with him in expensive places he might even buy you dinner but beware of his forgotten credit cards which loses or forgets regularly because you will pick up the bills. He will ask for a deposit to get your 'investment' sometimes thousands of pounds,he might also ask for your card /account details so that the monies can be transfered into your account (do not ion any account give these details)you will not see it again.
What does he look like :A large tall man ,large hands ,he has a paunch white longish hair with a tint,he has been described as looking like 'Ken Barlow' from Corrie.He is around 60ish,drinks like a fish but doesn't, seem to get too drunk.
Nobody knows exactly where he lives he says he has a house in Sunningdale and a small flat in central London but I doubt it. Changes his mobile number like the weather saying he has lost his phone with his cards !!!
He likes to go to nice restaurants e.g Scotts of Mayfair,Scallinnis,the Novicov Hotel,the Dorchester ,the May Fair etc etc.
He also gets himself into private members clubs without actually having a membership e.g The Arts Club,Annabel's ,he seems to know lots of people but I suspect not that well this also seems to make him more believable he is so good a what he does that you shouldn't blame yourself for being a mug HE IS A PROFFESIONAL CON MAN and has been doing this for years, not just in the UK but in Cyprus ana Spain.
He drives an old silver VW Passat left hand drive and tells you that his Aston Martin is in for repair, he is a creep and I hope to God that the story about his daughter having cancer treatment is not a lie because that is pure wickedness .Nothing surprises me about this man the trouble is with the smaller amounts that he takes from people he is careful not to leave a paper trail or an address or number where you can contact him so victims feel stupid in reporting the fruad or how trusting they have been. When he reads this which I am sure he will he will realise that things are closing in on him so look out he might move his scam from London to another town,city or even country.
