Anew Rehab Services
Ponzi Scheme
Palm Springs, California, 92262
Please Beware of this Ponzi Scheme, Anew Rehab Services is a complete scam, Laurence Taylor is behind the scenes, with his girlfriend Michelle who was a past client. Laurence Taylor has taken advantage of many people, and blames it on them and their family, after taking money from them. He says that they don't want to recover, but how and why would recovery be attractive in any way by all his lies and using the AA Book, and the name of God to justify his scheme. He will tell you or your parents what they want to hear, then once he has your money, and spends it, your a p.o.s. Or if he doesn't follow through with the skeleton program he offers, he denies saying anything he has promised you and your family. So why is it a ponzi scheme? Because he will get in debt with one person, and take the new persons money that he has conned and pay off an old debt, This is illegal, So he really never makes any kind of profit he just furthers himself in debt. This facility is also unlicensed, and uninsured. Laurence is very stubborn, and doesn't take criticism well. If your not about what he is doing he really doesn't want anything to do with you. He is currently trying to hide his scheme behind doing a sober living home. He doesn't drug test nor can he really tell if a person is on drugs, So the client is left to fend for themselves. Its not structured, its based on Laurence's Mood what they do, which is much of nothing attractive especially for new comers. He wants cash only so its not traceable, and he doesn't have to pay any kind of taxes so if you were to tell him that you want your money back, he will throw you the crumbs. (if your lucky). Please stay away from this place, you will get conned. Look on yp.com, they have some five star ratings that are part of his scam, the ones that are low star are the truth of what Laurence is really about. He has an excuse for everything. I'm only telling you the facts, if you want to know or doubt what I'm saying is true, than you should try his facility out, but beware if you have money when you go there, or anything valuable you wont have it if and when you leave there. I believe that people should know what they are dealing with before they consider this Treatment/ Sober living.Soon everything will catch up, and it will be stopped, but quicker with your help at stopping your family/ loved ones from going to this scam house.Hope this helps. Here is a Comment from a recent clients mother: and 1 of many disappointing reviews:
Please BEWARE! Our daughter was there over a month in Spring 2012. Our daughter did not get the program we paid for. We were told she was doing good. She was not! Laurence Taylor was asked to drug test her and he refused. We were told they would make sure she took her daily meds. They did not! We decided to pull our daughter out of Anew Rehab Services. Her life was on the line. When a family member help pack her belongings they found all of her prescriptions were unopened, evidence of drug use was found in her room and her room was a disaster. Anew staff should be trained to recognize behavior changes when a resident relapses. I am not sure they are even licensed to handle detox at the house. Do they even have any licenses? Our 20 year old daughter was the only female living in the house with men. I think to be a staff they only have to be sober for 90 days. The female resident mentor, Michelle L., was Laurence Taylor's girlfriend at the time our daughter was there. Michelle was a resident at Anew Rehab in the past as she stated in her review . We had to pay a $5000 medical escrow upfront along with the large lump sum tuition. We are suppose get a refund on our balance. They have not provided us with receipts after numerous request. We were told they paid two doctors $1500 each for a 12 week program for our daughter. This program was suppose to begin week one. It never happened. Anew Rehab Services keeps giving us excuses. Do yourself a favor, and don't even consider this place! They have an F rating on the Better Business Bureau.
This is a total scam, they advertised for a sober living room for $1500/mo. Once we agreed to 6 months rent in advance, total $11,000, they started scamming for another $45,000 for the 6 month period. ($56,00 total). When we said after one week that we could not commit to that much money they told us they would refund our money after 6 days. Now 6 months later they have given us exactly $1000 of the $11,000 they owe us.These people are predators who pray on the weak and the needy. STAY AWAY!
