"Web of Trust" is a web of extortion!

This so-called "trust" website bates website owners into getting their websites reviewed via their "forum." When website owners join WOT and ask for a review, the people who rate their site essentially trash it very maliciously. If the website owner tries to defend himself, they delete the website owner's comments, leaving only the malicious unfounded comments on their site. The more the website owner tries to "correct" the situation, the worse their rating gets.

Then days later, the website owner receives a letter demanding more than $1,000 to "correct" the situation if they buy their trust badge.

This is extortion, plain and simple. If you look around the web, you will see many comments and reviews of this WOT site, stating that it is a fraud and is itself scam. The ratings seem to be done by bots (there is no way that humans can rate as many sites as some of these people claim). They give great ratings to Russian porn websites, and trash perfectly legitimate small family businesses!

Avoid them like the plague. They offer an add-on for several browsers. DO NOT USE IT! It will mislead you with its false ratings and lead you to sites that contain malware! Do some research and you will see for yourself!
