STAMFORD, CT- A Stamford, CT judge found a Trinidad national, Marie-Vonne Richardson negligent in a civil case involving theft and fraud of property, cash, and cancer treatment medication in which witnesses call “one of the most disturbing acts of greed we've ever seen”.
According to court documents and testimony, Marie-Vonne Richardson stole cash designated for cancer treatment, property including clothing, cell phones, life insurance policy of $250,000, inheritance paperwork and cancer medication, supplements, and vitamins. The victim, XXXXXXX of Brooklyn, NY, claimed that this property and cash was stolen while he was incapacitated. The State Of Connecticut Supreme Court agreed with the victim and the witnesses. The court docket shows Marie-Vonne Richardson appeared in court on August 13, 2012 and asked for an adjournment and was granted by the court. The next court date Marie-Vonne Richardson faxed a request for another adjournment claiming “the (Plaintiff) is currently incarcerated for acts of abuse against me and has caused me emotional pain”. The judge granted her the adjournment and replied asking for proof of this claim. The court verified that the Plaintiff was not incarcerated at that point. The judge then ordered a Final Hearing in which Marie-Vonne Richardson failed to show up with the proof. A Judgment was ordered against her after testimony by 2 witnesses. One witness, a private detective from New York, claimed that he met with Marie-Vonne Richardson and she admits to the theft of property, cash, and cancer medication and made an agreement to return but then disappeared.
According to various online outlets, Marie-Vonne Richardson is listed on over eight websites accusing her of other thefts from roommates and previous boyfriends and girlfriends. On whoscammedyou.com Marie-Vonne Richardson is listed by three separate people accusing her of theft and fraud.
The victim, XXXXXX, gave a statement saying “Ms. Richardson knowingly and purposely withheld my cancer medication and property in the hopes of my death and collecting the $250,000 life insurance policy that I made her and her son beneficiaries of. Otherwise why wouldn't she return the property and cash as agreed? She has a history of theft from roommates and other boyfriends and girlfriends, it has been found, and I have been in constant communication with law enforcement authorities and immigration. I know that she is currently soliciting people to acquire citizenship. I have tried to peacefully resolve this with Marie-Vonne but she has not been cooperative. She stole all my property, all my cash, and my medication which has caused me irreversible pain and suffering. My health has taken a nosedive because of her actions and I truly believe she tried to kill me by withholding the medication. For someone I provided a roof over her head, food every day, cash whenever she needed it, clothing, gifts, and gifts for her son Kuvonn Richardson, it just proves that there is evil in the world.”
The victim provided copies of credit card bills, online food service and receipts for cash and gifts provided to Marie-Vonne Richardson and her son Kuvonn Richardson of Brooklyn, NY.
Court records show a court date of January 25, 2013 is scheduled with Marie-Vonne Richardson and XXXX in New York Supreme Court and a counter-claim was filed by the victim for 1st Degree Reckless Endangerment. A call to Marie-Vonne Richardson’s work for comment was not returned.
