American General Contracting Richard and Robert Kloska

lied and ran away with our money.

Ronkonkoma, New York

I signed a contract with AGC back in November 2012 just after super storm Sandy. A salesman from (out of town) working for the company knocked on my door. AGC came in for one week and did a rip out. They received their first 3rd and that was the end of them. I have text messages and voice mail messages proving their unwillingness to return. All I ever did was call and call asking when someone will be coming to work on my house. I am $30,000 in the hole and I do not have any walls, kitchen, bath, plumbing, heating or electric. No carpenters ever arrived, only day "bull workers" for the rip out. They were the "D" crew at the very best. They did not properly handle my insurance claim either and also never even contacted my insurance adjusters. NOT ONCE.

When we first met one of the owners Rob K (RK) he said it was "easier to do the right thing"... a few months later he couldn't be bothered with calls and said I should call my salesperson, not him, as he is the owner and he did not have time for these types of calls... he never did do "the right thing" RK said he had 75 jobs going and I would need to wait! Wait? For what? A year? DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY. Now almost a year to the day of the storm has passed and now I have had to retain an attorney and am "getting very comfortable living in my trailer." I quote that statement because RK told me to should get used to living in a trailer and also that I should "lawyer up because we are in a contract". He also said if I wanted out I should buy him out! Unreal! The rip out is only the first 10% They owe us approximately 20,000 out of the monies I gave them already and he has the audacity to ask to buy him out!

Sign with AGC if you like stress, heartburn, giving away money, being disrespected, screamed at, called foul names and waiting for workers that will never arrive ...

Very sad that people like this prey on disaster victims.

Watch out, remember their names and run as far and as fast as you can!

They lied and ran away with our money.
They profit on other people's losses.

I now know of two other who also had terrible experiences with this company

This post is disturbing it runs counter to the majority of satisfied storm victims.
Many will believe this review but I wonder how many would believe after meeting the author.
This company doesn't run they mediate and work with everyone to find common ground if any issue arises.
The author of this review is a liar and in litigation with the company.
Do your homework check the company out prior to the storm or go visit them in their office..nice guys!
