Will buy your item & PAY FREIGHT
Pacific, Washington, 98047
A clever scam:
1. Scammer expresses keen interest to buy the car - no problem - buying this as gift for father
2. Scammer claims to work on off shore rig with limited communications ability
3. Scammer wants pictures and ownership proof
4. Scammer agrees to pay through PayPal as he cannot go to bank and wire funds
5. Scammer then says he will take care of freight - no problem - don't worry about shipping costs
6. Scammer confides problem with paying shipper - only takes Western Union & must be prepaid for carrier to pick up the car. Starts to smell!
7. Scammer has easy solution to freight problem and asks if he can include freight fee in his payment to me. So I can pay freight with his funds to the shipping agent. Sure, I can do that.
8. Scammer sends fake PayPal confirm and directions on sending freight fee. I check my PayPal account and no $ is received in the account. OK now I am pretty sure this is a problem - stay vigilant.
9. This brilliant piece of excrement sends another fake PayPal confirm, stating funds will be temporarily held until freight fees are paid. AHA Moment! - If you need to pay anyone online to receive your payment then you are definitely being bent over for the proverbial screwing.
10. I respond to the lowlife with a simple solution to the temporary hold on his fake PayPal payment. Tell him to just send the freight fee separately and I will forward it. And of course I will refund him the overage when account is fully credited. Never hear from them again. Want to see my shocked face.
No lose here - just my precious time and now I have to change PayPal address, email address and increase credit monitoring - terrific.
These clowns has tried to access my account from both Russia and India.
