Breeder Transformed Cattery Name To Another

I purchased two Devon Rex kittens last month from E & K Katz and flew from Portland, Oregon to North Carolina to pick them up. Both kittens were very underweight and thin. They both snarled and growled over food.

Within a few short days, both kittens exhibited watery eyes which became sneezing and very congested. They were hot to the touch and stopped eating and drinking. We took them to the vet and was told that they were extremely malnourished and thin and one of the kittens showed teeth stains which the vet stated, showed early antibiotic use.

About one week after I purchased them, the buyer of a littermate to one of my kittens contacted me through Facebook to tell me that her kitten was extremely sick the day she got him and died within a week from FIP. She has sent me all correspondence with the breeder and the dates tell me that the breeder knew it was fip before I flew out to pick them up.

In fact, she told me that they knew that it had to be the father as he had lost a great deal of weight recently. This cattery was called Beautymus Cattery with Karen Hill as owner previously but now goes by the name E & K Katz with Elizabeth Bolen as the breeder but kitten papers still state Beautymus Cattery so I called CFA and was told that E & K Katz is not registered nor is Elizabeth Bolen.

I did a great deal of research and this is what I found. Karen Hill transferred everything into her managers name Elizabeth Bolen. Karen moved to Costa Rica but still mentors Elizabeth to what extent I do not know but Karen is the person that responded to my report through Better Business Bureau. The internet is full of reports and claims of kittens dying from these catteries spanning years.

Fip and respiratory virus' are the problems. Previous breeder who were mentored under Karen Hill have come forward and stated that they are given step by step instructions on how to forge health certificates. Neither kitten is responding to antibiotics or antivirals and my long time companion cat is now running a 105 degree fever. This is a mess and these kittens are suffering with many dying.

People are devastated, search either cattery name or either breeder name. Someone needs to check into this matter. Elizabeth Bolen contacted me a couple of days before pick up requesting cash before pick up and to tell me that one of my kittens had been bit by some spider and it has abcessed. She told me that she was going to take him to the vet the following morning and received antibiotics and asked me to "finish them up" when I had the kitten in my possession. The meds that I received were not for a kitten. They were pills in a foil sheet that had to be dissolved in water before administration with no label. Can you help me to put a stop to more kittens dying and people being taken advantage of ?
