Thana Balan .P. Jahanathan @ A.K. Balan, a con thief, who masked himself as a CFO of a company called Jurang Niaga Sdn.Bhd cheated many Business man by making them to believe and invest for their project. In the end he gets money from those business man until they are exhausted and for many it had led to a great loss in their lives and even death. This article narrates about this con thief, how he met the businessmen and how they were cheated, by him.
On 2011, Balan met an Iranian man who was introduced to him before in Dubai, in Kulalumpur, who is searching for fund, for his business. Balan convinced this Iranian man to work for a crude oil construction company in Russia by giving him many illusions about succeeding in it. So, both of them, convinced an Indian business man in Mumbai to fund. Balan made him to invest 3,000,000 USD for their project with the company name called” Richmond Energy”. He then trapped people from Royal family in Malayasia, a Chinese lady for the crude oil project and got a very good amount of money from them. But there was no progress in their work, since Balan had took away all the money and left the Iranian man.
So, now after tasting lot of money, Balan was now used to this cheating work, and he had cheated many businessmen by giving them false promises.
On 2012, a business man from Malacca was searching funder for his project. He was introduced to this Balan by another person. Balan promised him to get money for his business, and asked him to take him to come to Hong Kong to get the money. So Balan along with that Malacca man travelled to Hong Kong and stayed over there for over 3 months. Balan made him to pay for his every expenses, and totally he made the Malacca man to give him 60,000 RM (Ringgit Malaysia) and another amount for his travel, stay and expense. Only days passed for this Malacca man but not a single good work for his business.


Then during September 2012, he met a businessman, from Chennai, India, who was looking for fund for his project. Balan said to the businessman that, he could get him 60 million euro within 10 bank working days. But for that, he need, 125,000 euros as an upfront money. This businessman gave him the money, since Balan showed him off very well and all the proofs that he is capable to get the money. Now, days rolled on, but nothing happened for the Chennai businessman till December 2012.
By this time, Balan simply dragged time and was replying somehow he would get money for all the people who contacted him and did nothing!!
In December 2012, he came up with a new story for the crude oil construction in Russia, and discussed with the above said businessmen, and asked them to fund for it, and later he give it back to them as a fund for their own projects.
Balan found a company in Petaling Jaya owned by an old Malayasian lady who was also looking for finance for her project. He convinced her with many false stories, and made up her mind to believe him. So Balan made up her to give 800,000 RM and went to Hong Kong. From there, he again spoke with the Chennai businessman whom he took to Hong Kong, and again he spoke with him that he would fund for him and made him to pay again for all the expenses in Hong Kong. In Hong Kong he met an American Businessman, and Balan cheated him also. Balan took, 450,000 USD from the American Businessman. Later, he met a businessman from Singapore and cheated him also by discussing about a timber export project.
Later, the American businessman contacted him. Balan made him to visit Malaysian and made him to meet a Chinese priest. This priest was an ordinary simple person who don’t have any well said background and he not even know English. But this Balan, played a game with this priest and American. Since the priest doesn’t know English, Balan said very highly about this priest to the American and said he is a big shot and is going to invest a great amount for the project. So again the American believed and went off.
Then in Januarry 2013, Balan help up a conference in Hotel Dorsett Grand, in Subang Jaya to announce a JV (Joint Venture) between the Chennai businessman’s company and Petaling Jaya Malayasian lady’s company for the project. For this, he even called the American Businessman to make it all legal and got the bond which in true does not exists.
By this time, he was getting an amount of money from all the businessman. He then took Chennai Businessman, Malaysian lady, the Malacca man, the Iranian, the Mumbai business man and the American Businessman to Chennai, India. He held a press conference in Hotel Hayat in Chennai where he made all big announcement about how he was trying to make money to drill out oil well in Russia. But in truth, the oil construction bond have expired and given to someone else. So Balan was issuing non-existence bond to raise money for oil well construction.
By March 2013, Balan had already cheated Malayasian lady for more than 3 Million RM. He asked this lady’s to send her son to Russia to visit the oil Construction project. By this time, Malaysian lady started to believe Balan very blindly. So she sent her son, and also gave a huge amount of money to Balan by borrowing from her father.
But, in Russia, Balan played a drama with the Malaysian lady. He called this lady and said that her son had been kidnapped by a mafia gang and she need to pay, 800,000 RM to release her son. She paid him that amount also. Even then Balan asked 30,000 RM. Since the Malaysian lady didn’t had enough money, she borrowed money and gave him and she promised him to give the balance amount when he landed in Kulalumpur. Balan took all money from this lady till she was dried up completely. All of her family members were very much disturbed because of this.
One day in December 2013, Balan went up to this lady’s house with some of his men, having empty paint cans, and other things to frighten and disturb them and made noise over there. Because of this, the lady’s father got heart attack and died. Balan was very much happy about this incident!!
After 2013 September, two associates of Balan, Anantha raj and a lawyer called maniyan helped Balan raise another 7 Million RM. Richmond Energy was now closed. Balan started a new company called “Global all 57” whose main objective was to raise money by collecting people to invest money in non-existing oil well.
In Dec 2013, he made up new story about how to buy oil from Middle East and sell it to China. He also spoke about line of credit ”Global all 57” got from the bank in South Korea. There was again of course, no line of credit.
He kept doing the same for the whole 2014, talking about non existing oil deals, holding press conference, talk of JV for oil dealing and money from everybody.
From the first half of 2014 Balan cheated a company from Middle East and a Chinese company from Singapore. Also he continues to cheat many others till today. Many have lost their family, lives because of him.
His mode of operation with all the businessmen are the same. He make big deals with them in Billions and Millions of United State dollars, and make them to pay for insuring the bond for their project which in real does not exists and also for the expenses made by him. Balan brain washed every person and made them to pay him the money but he did nothing good for them except absorbing their hard earned money, and their lives.
Once Balan gets the money, he would first send the 70% of money to his family in Kilang. With the remaining money he does all the cheating activities. To date, he have atleast 15 Million USD hidden.
This con man must be locked immediately. We plea, the authorities in Malaysia, Singapore to take action against this man. We also appeal to the general public and businessmen, to not be fooled by this scoundrel and do not trust him any more if they come to meet him in future.
