Letter with instructions and an enclosed check (2900). Call for insructions, deposit check, wait for check to clear, withdraw all but 300. Go to Western Union or Moneygram location. Indicates that you are doing survey of the customer service, they give you a name (and wants to make sure you spell in correctly alphabet by alphabet) and has you send the money, you then call back with the number associated with the transfer. Fortunately, I read the western union disclaimer never to send money to someone you do not know personally and if someone is having you do that to call the number listed on their form. I did and found out that it was a scam. I deposited money back into my back account and the next day the bank recorded that the check was a bad check. All fees associated with that bad check were returned to my account by the branch manger at my bank. Wanted to share my story so that this won't happen to someone, This could have been very bad for me.
