Bill me later

Cynosure buys Con Bio Lasers then starts scamming

Us, California

I bought a Medlite C6 Nd:Yag Q-switched laser from Con Bio of Freemont California, a reputable laser company after researching the laser companies in depth. I payed over $100,000 for a new one from the company.
I had less than 400,000 pulses on the laser when I had my first problem and called the company for repair. To put it in prospective, tattoo removal businesses can put over 5 million pulses on this laser in ONE MONTH. Since it was passed the 1 year warranty, I was responsible for the repair bill, however, I was informed that Con Bio (a reputable laser company) was purchased by CYNOSURE and they required me to deposit $7000 before they would even send a tech to look at my laser. I told them that it was only rarely used during this time and treated with kid gloves, so why should I deposit all that money just to find out the on/off switch had broken (it would not switch on). They said "no deposit, no laser tech". They were the only one that could work on the laser and give a warranty for the work. They told me that if it was a $5 switch, that they would refund the money that I needed to pre-pay. Well I authorized the payment and on 9/29/11 the laser technician for CYNOSURE, Mr Lew Boyd came and fixed the laser. It ended up costing me $8588, claiming all the repairs were necessary to get my laser working again.
I was very surprised by the price, but had no choice. I was more surprised that he claimed that he needed to take my old Hi Voltage power supply back to the manufacturer for proper disposal. I informed him that I wanted to keep the old parts that he had replaced. (He charged me $6076 for a NEW Hi Voltage power supply, claiming that mine could not have been fixed.) He was very insistent on leaving my office with my old power supply, until I took a picture of him with it, and told him of my plans to have him arrested, as it belonged to me. He then claimed to make a few phone calls to his "boss", who would let the customer keep their own power supply "just this once, but we always take the old power supply when we replace it."
I later found out from a friend that works in tv, that the old Hi Voltage power supplies are usually repaired (sometimes for less than $500) and he probably planned to fix my old one (after charging me over $6000 for a new one) and pull this scam on someone else.
Also my friend's tv Engineer sent him a link showing this Hi Voltage power supply sells for ~$3,000 and that I could sell my nonworking used one back to the company that manufactures them for ~$1,500, as well as an ebay link to a used one for $2,500.
This company CYNOSURE is shameless in their pursuit of profits.
I was never given the option of repairing the part, only replacing it.(the part:Lumina CCPF 1700V Capacitor is pictured)
