Attorney General Office about a loan

Was contacted by a man claiming to be Officer Richard Hunt which at a foreign voice like from India. He said her was with the attorney general office. After being asked which attorney general office, He said he was with New York City He said he needed to us to send money for a bad debt loan which was for $355. He said to send $1709 on the first day. He said if the money was not sent, a warrant would be issued for an arrest with in an hour. He was in New York City and we are in GA. He said the warrant would be issue with in an hour. The mother of my sister paid the first amount of $1709. Several days later, the same person called back saying they needed addition amount of $1001.99. I stopped mother from paying. I spoke with the man, could not give the amount right away with in a second, had to be put on hold to get the amount. The man used nicknames in reference to the legal matter plus would not give paper work about the legal matter before the amount of money paid. He wanted the money sent to them on a Walmart money pack cards in certain amounts on certain cards. The money on the loan started out of $355 but needed to repay over $2000.00. He would not give address to send the money or anything else. The phone call also had a digital sound to it. Contacted the sheriff office and they said it was a scam and they are looking into it.
